This first line of clothing from SUTROM is dedicated to distinct people and their personality.
Therefore to showcase the collection we have captured three women in a single frame, (refer pic above) these women do not represent the stereotypical notion of beauty defined by our society.
The idea of using these people as models was to challenge conventional notion of beauty and glorify the fact that every individual can look stunning, all you need is to express your individuality through what you wear and how you carry yourself.
The first model is Ratrish who’s is a transgender she chooses feminine gender to be her identity. What makes Ratish attractive is the attitude with which she carries Indian outfit especially sari.
The second model is Satarupa, she has dark complexion and extremely curly hair. She cuts a complete opposite picture of what we conventionally call beautiful in India, When drapped in a six yard satarupa is a stunner.
The third model is Lopa a mother and a corporate woman.Lopa is the girl next door without the perfect vital statistic of a model, yet the grace with which she carries a western as well as Indian outfit is something to watch out for.
These three women were chosen to show the spectrum of feminine beauty. This illustration was done essentially to communicate the fact that style is one’s individual statement.
Nothing else really matters.
